Frank Gore Retires: Hall of Fame Bound?
A 49ers Legend Hangs Up His Cleats
Frank Gore, the San Francisco 49ers' all-time leading rusher, has announced his retirement. The 38-year-old running back signed a one-day contract with the 49ers on Thursday, June 2, and officially retired as a member of the team.
A Hall of Fame Legacy
As a five-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time NFL All-Pro, Gore is widely considered one of the greatest running backs of his generation. With over 16,000 career rushing yards and 81 rushing touchdowns, he is 9th all-time in NFL rushing yards and 19th all-time in NFL rushing touchdowns.
Many believe that Gore's impressive statistics and consistent performance make him a shoo-in for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As one of the voters for the Hall of Fame, I believe that Gore will be enshrined in Canton, Ohio, when he becomes eligible in 2025.
