Bayern Munich Reach Champions League Semis After Edge-of-the-Seat Arsenal Win
Kimmich's Goal Secures Aggregate Victory
Bavarians to Face Real Madrid in Last Four
Bayern Munich has booked its place in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League after a pulsating 1-0 win over Arsenal in the second leg of their quarterfinal tie at the Allianz Arena.
The Bavarians, who won the first leg 2-1 in London, went into the game with a slender advantage but were made to work hard for their victory by a determined Arsenal side.
The only goal of the game came in the 53rd minute when Joshua Kimmich curled a stunning shot into the top corner of the net from the edge of the area.
Arsenal pressed for an equalizer in the remaining minutes but could not find a way past the resilient Bayern defense.
The Bavarians will now face Real Madrid in the semifinals, with the first leg to be played at the Allianz Arena on April 25.
