Kyle Walker: Man City defender admits title stress kept him awake at night

The England international has been a key part of Pep Guardiola's side's success in recent seasons

But he has revealed that the pressure of challenging for trophies has taken its toll on his sleep

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has admitted that the stress of challenging for trophies has kept him awake at night.

The England international has been a key part of Pep Guardiola's side's success in recent seasons, winning three Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and an FA Cup.

But Walker has revealed that the pressure of competing at the highest level has taken its toll on his mental health.

"I've not slept for three or four days," Walker told reporters.

"The pressure is immense. You're playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world and you're expected to win every game.

"I love the challenge, but it can be tough at times."

Walker's admission comes as Manchester City prepare to face Liverpool in a crucial Premier League clash on Sunday.

The two sides are level on points at the top of the table and the winner will take a big step towards the title.

Walker is expected to play a key role in the game and he will be hoping to help his team secure their fourth Premier League title in five seasons.
