Kremer Departs After Injury in 7-5 Loss
X-Rays Negative; UrĂas Sustains Injury
On August 23, the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers met at American Family Field for a thrilling matchup. However, the game took an unexpected turn when starting pitcher Keegan Kremer was forced to leave the mound in the first inning after being struck by a line drive.
Kremer's Exit
Kremer was hit on the right forearm by a 105.3 mph line drive from Brewers' Tyrone Taylor. He was immediately examined by team trainers and subsequently removed from the game.
X-rays on Kremer's arm came back negative, indicating no fracture. However, the severity of the injury is still being evaluated.
UrĂas' Injury and Game Outcome
In the same game, Cubs' infielder David UrĂas suffered a left leg contusion after colliding with Tyrone Taylor at first base. He was able to remain in the game but was replaced in the ninth inning.
The Brewers ultimately defeated the Cubs 7-5. Despite a strong start from Kremer, the Cubs bullpen was unable to hold the lead, allowing the Brewers to rally for the victory.
